| Emerald Christian Academy
(ECA) is a Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church school
which provides an educational program for students in
kindergarten through tenth grade. This school is one of
more than forty Adventist Schools directed by the Oregon
Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. These schools
serve over 3,000 students ranging in age from pre-school
children to seniors in high school. |
| |
| The SDA church operates a
school system to ensure that youth receive a balanced
physical, mental, moral, social, and vocational
education in harmony with Biblical standards and ideals.
The state government maintains a highly develped public
school system for making citizens. But in addition to
being patriotic, Seventh-day Adventists want children to
be loyal, conscientious Christians. |
| |
| ECA is sponsored and
subsidized by seven Adventist churches in Lane County.
The Cottage Grove SDA Church, Eugene SDA Church, Eugene
Korean SDA Schuch, Fall Creek SDA Church, Pleasant Hill
SDA Church, Springfield SDA Church, and Springfield
Spanish SDA Church comprise the supporting church
family. These churches, in cooperation with the Oregon
Conference, also provide members which make up the
governing school board. |
