He provides innovative leadership training for our managers and has guided our employees, department by department, through a process of articulating and committing themselves to a core covenant of values that they themselves decided on. His focus is always on finding out what our needs are and then designing and delivering a product that really meets those needs.” Ryan Gee, CEO, Gee Automotive Companies
| “My first experience with Mike involved a meeting to discuss how we might use his consulting services to plan for and facilitate our 2009 board retreat. From the very beginning, Mike struck me as someone who was highly qualified in his profession and I was intrigued with the model he presented to achieve a clear and productive path to clear thinking, effective communication and ultimately better decision making. His focus on values and ethics resonated strongly with what I was looking for in a consultant and his model to improve decision making at all levels of the organization was exactly what I thought we needed. As a result of the positive response and progress coming out of initial work with Mike for our retreat, we engaged him to conduct two additional training sessions on the decision making model. I definitely plan to engage Mike’s services in the future.” Jayne Auld, Executive Director, Spokane Housing Ventures

| “On December 29, 2008, when the roof of one of our grocery stores collapsed under the weight of heavy snow, 120 employees were suddenly left without a place to earn a paycheck. That night, amid the turmoil of shock and raw emotion, several of our key Executive Staff members met to figure out our next steps. Many thoughts were swirling through my brain, but Mike Stebbins’ decision making framework for choosing the right thing to do, the
ethical thing to do, played loudly in my head. Although it was an emotional and frenzied night, calm came from having previously thought
through the concepts Mike shared with me. In the end our management team
made a decision to reimburse our employees for the vast majority of
their lost income and pay for the continuation of their benefits until
the store reopens. While the insurance will help with a portion of that
expense, the decision to use company resources to make up the difference
was a bold step for a small company. I am so proud of our team for the
stance we took that night. We made the right decision, even with the
resulting cost to our bottom line. Decisions made during times of smooth
sailing are sometimes difficult enough. When the waters were churning
and the waves were crashing around us, I felt blessed to have a firm
foundation for evaluating that tough call. I am grateful to Mike for
sharing his wisdom.” Jeff Philipps, President and CEO, Rosauers Supermarkets, Inc.
| “Mike is able to present his material and engage the group in a way that makes people want to participate and discuss the issues openly; he also has the special talent to help others think clearly and deeply about the core purpose of a situation. He has brought a fresh and much needed perspective to the financial services industry regarding ethics and purpose.” Joel C. White, President, Society of Financial Service Professionals, Spokane Chapter | |
| “Mike Stebbins provides his clients with a depth of intellectual rigor and practical insight that one rarely encounters in the field of management consulting.” T. Dean Maines, President, SAIP Institute, St. Paul, MN | |
| “Michael Stebbins is a very clear thinker and an exceptional communicator. He has worked with University of Great Falls faculty, staff and donors, demonstrating a remarkable ability to speak effectively with a wide array of people. This ability to communicate starts with Mike’s desire to listen. He gathers the information, organizes his thoughts, and offers a systematic and complete plan of action. We all think very highly of Mike.” Eugene McAllister, President, University of Great Falls | |
| “Mike Stebbins has a knack for taking the ‘un’ out of the ‘unfathomable.’
His background and deep knowledge of how we think opened avenues of
consideration for us that we would most likely have left unexamined. He
has cutting edge ideas about getting insights. He has a capacity to
articulate them and to adapt his words to meet the interests and
horizons of his audience. It was a pleasure to work with him and his
colleagues to explore ways of overcoming the current pitfalls that
intelligence analysis faces. We were able to walk away with insights
that were helpful in both the theoretical and practical realms.”
